#129 Just Kidding

it is 6AM but I finally finished this comic

So for a moment Sean and I were getting up early and running every morning, and that happened to be just when Nik came back. (He went home after finals, in case you forgot) Of course it didn’t take long for us to revert to our old habits, but we did somehow convince Nik to run with us one time despite his protesting.

Sean is sleeping right now so instead you get a guest post by Nik, in response to Sean’s post about “Ken-SCREAM-ado“.

The Night of 4000 Kicks

KemscrimaDoh is a Filipino martial art combining Kempo karate, Escrima, and various other fighting styles to transform one’s body into an unstoppable killing machine. Kempo karate is Chinese in origin, and is basically the art of causing damage to people without any weapons. Escrima is Filipino, and emphasizes fighting with sticks or swords. My little brother and I attended the dojo for something like two years. But Sean is dumb, KemscrimaDoh is not just yelling at the enemy until they die, even though that would be like a billion times cooler.

So, this one time, we were raising money for St Jude’s hospital using a Kick-athon. Like, people would pay 5 cents per kick. My little brother and I arrived right at the beginning of the event, and kicked for four hours straight. It really hurt that night; My legs were twitching and I couldn’t sleep and it was awful. But we did kick 4000 times each, and raised infinity dollars.

I don’t mind running, I think the getting up early part to do it would kill me though.

If they ever make a Sci-Fi movie out of KenscrimaDoh, they can change it from an advanced style of fighting to a device that lets users yell at people till they die (and make cracks in the ground under fallen enemies!). It’s sure to become a cult classic.

    @ Mimi: I hate running.
@ Nik: doesn’t “kempo karate” translate to “karate fighting style?”

    “How much did we raise?”
    “My God…..we raised infinity!”

    Comic was awesome.

But I rofl so effin hard at “But we did kick 4000 times each, and raised infinity dollars.”.

    Congratulations dude, on being hilarious.

How far do you actually end up running, out of curiosity?

  7. Mimi

@allen: anywhere between 0.75 and 3 miles (in increments of 0.75 miles)
