#64 Guest Strip: The “In Crowd”

I had to resize the comic a lot, so make sure to click on it to see the full sized version.

TJ and I were in the same multivariable calculus class freshman year, and I met Charles and Jason at GameStop, where they spent most of their free time. Basically what I’m trying to say is that we’re a bunch of nerds.

TJ treats games like super serious business. I don’t know how many times Jason has called me either way too late or way to early to tell me about THE WITCHER (and things like that). And Charles… well… he graduated (from college!) at age 14. He’s just Charles.

Unfortunately for all of them, they really only see me at school. Which means… during midterms and finals… I haven’t showered in a week, I’ve pulled 3 all nighters in a row… and I’m usually pissed about everything, or “raging” as Jason calls it.

Am I excited about this guest strip? Oh yeah, you know I am. ‘Cause I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to show you devoted readers what Mimi’s life is like at college. Through art! The only thing that I left out was the ridiculous amounts of MATH that Mimi seems to enjoy. After hanging out with Mimi for almost a year, you get to know her looks, and the one she wears when Jason and Charles have different conversations at the same time says something along the lines of “I really hope people don’t start listening to what they’re saying.” Between Charles’ willful ignorance when it comes to all things sexual (but he knows; trust me, he knows.) and Jason’s constant naivete, Mimi and I would end up sighing and rolling our eyes and trying to explain Charles’ fascination with really young anime girls to Jason, who would then respond “but, what do you mean by ‘fascination?’”. We would then try to remind ourselves that Charles is not 50 yrs old and is in fact 16 and then hopefully remember that Jason is the oldest in our group. Yes, it’s odd. Interesting fact, 10 minutes after I scanned the comic strip and sent it off to Mimi, Jason called me and said “I’m bored. Let me tell you about what I did today.” Yeah… we’re pretty cool. And by “pretty” I mean “not very.”

That dazzling shot in the second panel is right gorgeous. As well as the rest of this lil’ doo-hickey.
